TRADITIONAL MASSAGE TREATMENTS

Geriatric Massage

Geriatric massage therapy is designed to address the specific needs of the elderly population. This type of massage for the elderly uses gentle and light application of massage techniques and can include passive stretching and a light oil or lotion to permit your muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin. These techniques can help enhance blood circulation, combat depression, improve balance and flexibility, reduce the pain of arthritis, increase joint mobility, improve posture, and encourage overall well-being.

Geriatric massage can be especially helpful for maintaining and improving overall health as we age. It also has been shown to relieve anxiety and provide comfort, especially to touch-deprived elderly clients.

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic drainage massage is a profound technique to help increase lymph flow. With an increase of lymph flow immune function is increased. Harmful substances are removed from the tissues and neutralized in the nodes. Lymphatic drainage massage is also useful when working with clients who have cancer, or recovering to boost immunity. We also offer face massages for regeneration and mini facelift.

Swedish/Relaxation Massage

Swedish/Relaxation massage is the most common and best-known type of massage. Swedish/Relaxation massage is the combination of many different  techniques rolled into one session. During this therapy session the therapist will work with the soft tissues and muscles in the body to help restore balance and health. The end result will relax all of the muscles in your body and to release any pain and tension that may exist. This is the perfect way for anyone who is overly worked and stressed out to relax their body and mind. By relieving muscle tension, Swedish/Relaxation massage can be both relaxing and energizing. And it may even help after an injury.

SPECIALIZED MASSAGE TREATMENTS

Cancer-Supportive Massage

This type of massage has many benefits for cancer patients. It makes them feel more positive about their body, rebuilds hope, helps to relax and feel whole again.  Studies have shown that this massage may also reduce pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, and depression. Individuals who have had massages during cancer treatments have reported a range of positive outcomes such as improvements in sleep, the health of the scar tissue, quality of life, mental clarity and alertness, and the range of movement. Research shows that massage of muscle and soft tissue does not spread cancer cells.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage. I use both fixed cupping and moving cupping, where the cups are moved during the treatment to massage the muscles.

MVA  / Car Accident Massage

MVA is for Motor Vehicle Accidents. If you were in a recent car or bike accident, you may need treatment and RX from not just a doctor, but a Chiropractor, Acupuncturist, and Massage Therapist to help get your body back in alignment.

Prenatal Massage

Massage during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension, which can aid in better sleep and less anxiety.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a form of massage therapy that follows the same principles of Swedish Massage with the addition of heated stones, which helps lead to deep relaxation. Adding heat to specific areas on the body enhances the feelings of relaxation and peace. Recommended in particular for individuals suffering from fibromyalgia, arthritis or other chronic pain. The penetrating effects of the heated stones allows the massage to be delivered without excessive pressure.
